• Question: What do you think kids in school should be learning about engineering?

      I always like doing engineering…. so applied engineering is a great approach. Having a problem and then solving it and finding out that actually what you have just done is applied somebody’s theorem in something, which you didn’t know existed and just happened to work out all by yourself. Meaning that you are actually as clever as the people in the books.

      Absolutely!! Engineering is important because it’s so practical and teaches you about how the things around you work – everything from your toilet to your car required an engineer to design, build and test it out!
      Kids should definitely be learning the basics like how electronic circuits work, how structures stay intact, how air flows around objects, how heat can be transferred between objects, etc.
      Even if you don’t end up becoming an engineer, knowing this stuff can be really useful in everyday life!
