I was devastated; being a pilot in the RAF had always been my dream job and I didn’t really know what I was going to do. Luckily I was still at College doing my A levels when I found out, so I was able to speak to my tutor about different careers, who suggested that I look into Engineering. I hadn’t really considered Engineering before as I didn’t really know what roles I could do and who I could eventually end up working for. After a lot of research on the internet I found out that a few Universities offered an Aerospace Engineering course so I decided to go for it; if I couldn’t learn to fly an aeroplane then the next best thing was learning how to design and build them!
