      Another good question!
      Sometimes we need to make a detailed analysis of a very specific part of the engine to understand how it will respond in different scenarios. This would mean doing lots of experiments at temperatures, pressures, materials, etc. that you would see in a real engine. This can be very expensive and take a long time to physically build all of the parts, especially if you have to do lots and lots of experiments on many different parts of the engine.
      This is where making a computer model can save you time and money! A computer model can give you the same information about the heat transfer and aerodynamics that you can get from a physical experiment, at a fraction of the cost and time. Of course, you have to be confident that your computer model is correct!
